  • If the father and mother are of foreign nationality, the child cannot acquire Japanese nationality even if the child is born in Japan.
    It is necessary to acquire nationality according to the laws of each country of the parents, so be sure to check with the embassy or consulate in Japan for procedures.

    Also, even if the parents are foreigners, it is necessary to submit a birth registration. Within 14 days including the day of birth, please report to the city hall, each city branch office (contact office is not possible), or the Funabashi Station General Counter Center.
