International marriage

Moving

  • For those who have moved in from another municipality, the move-out certificate, residence card or special permanent resident certificate, My Number Card (holder) issued by the previous municipality within 14 days after setting the address in Funabashi City. Please bring (only) and report the move-in.

  • My Number plastic cards have a validity period, and if you do not apply for an extension at the city hall counter before the validity period, the card will expire.

    ① Changes during the card validity period
    If the period of stay changes due to a change in residence status or renewal of residence period, the card validity period can be changed to the expiration date of the new period of stay. You can extend the validity period free of charge by applying at the city hall counter. However, after the period of stay is renewed, it takes several days for the information on the renewal of the period of stay from the Immigration Services Agency to reach the city hall. If you visit before the information on the renewal of the period of stay has arrived, it will take time to complete the procedure.

    ② Changes during the special period extension
    If you apply for permission to change your residence status or renew your period of stay before the expiration date of your period of stay and permission is not granted by the expiration date, you can legally reside with your previous residence status for up to two months until permission is granted, so in that case, the validity period of your My Number card can also be extended until the expiration date of the special period.

    a) Please apply for an extension at the city hall counter before the expiration date. At that time, please present documents that prove that you are renewing your status or a residence card with a rubber stamp of renewal. The validity period of your My Number card will be extended by two months.

    b) After renewing your residence status, please visit the city hall again to complete the renewal procedure for your My Number card. The validity period of your My Number card will be further extended for the duration of your stay free of charge.

    * For permanent residents, highly skilled professionals No. 2, and special permanent residents, if you are 18 years of age or older, the validity period will be extended until your 10th birthday from the date of issue, just like for Japanese nationals.

    * The validity period of your My Number card can only be changed at city halls, branch offices, and temporary My Number card issuing locations from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays. Please note that usual business hours may vary depending on the location.
  • The electronic certificate installed in your My Number Card has an expiration date.
    Once the electronic certificate's expiration date passed, it cannot be used as a health insurance card or use it in a convenience store.
